You need to plan ahead for this career, though, and have the facts as to whether you can be certain this is for you.

HOW MUCH IS SCHOOL?

You will need to go to college and can usually choose between a 2 year Associate Degree program or a 4 year BA degree.

WHAT WILL I GET PAID?

The hourly wage for a college grad is anywhere from $18-$55 per hour. And you will have a very flexible work schedule as well where you may choose to work contract, full, or part time.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

The prerequisites for the program are stringent and not all applying will easily get accepted. Check with the Dept. at the college you are considering to get a list of what classes you will need in order to be considered. Your test scores in some of these classes will be critical to getting you accepted.

If you live in a small town like Crawfordsville, Germantown, or Jericho for instance, you may need to go to Memphis to be enrolled in the program but should be able to take some of the prerequisites on-line.

Also, living in or near Bowling or Clarksville, may require you to travel to Nashville for most of your classes.

The economy is tough and you don’t want to waste time going to school and then not get a job. To save time and money consider a Tennessee CNA training program. There are many more home health aide training classes that take only a few weeks.
